When eggs are a no-no

Is anyone out there trying to go paleo without eggs? This is the second time I've done the Whole30, and every time I do it I come to the point where I realize that eggs do not make me feel good. I usually just ignore that fact because I can't bear to take something else out of my diet. This time, though, I think I gotta go egg-free. Would love to hear some tips from folks on being eggless on the paleo diet... especially when dealing with breakfast meals. Thanks!

I feel that! Eggs can definitely upset my stomach, especially if they're the first thing I eat that day. I find that they are less troublesome as a later meal, and do quite well with raw yolks (over sea veggie & onion stir-fry!) They can also be quite interesting with umeboshi plum paste (pickled), which gives you flavor and some serious bonus enzymes. If they just don't work for you, perhaps try a tasty and satisfying breakfast such as bacon guacamole...

I hear you, k8, and thanks for the recommendations. I also agree that raw yolks are just fine. It seems to me that cooked whites are the source of the problem. I'm trying to not think of breakfast in the typical way... lately I've just been eating leftovers or foods I'd eat for lunch/dinner and it's been great.

Eggs bother me too, but for me it's the yolks, especially when they're raw! I have been eating egg whites for breakfast a lot lately, but I'm a little afraid that they might be starting to bother me too. Other than that, I eat a lot of sausage for breakfast, and sometimes leftover dinner. I will also sometimes have a bowl with coconut flakes, apples diced small or grated, cinnamon, and coconut milk, although this isn't as filling as meat to me.
